OMAHA OMAHA! The Omaha audible that Peyton Manning is using is a recognizable 3-syllable sound we refer to in music as a triplet. A triplet pattern is well suited for communications in noisy environments. Audible or spoken communications have long been an issue for military & police personnel, particularly in radio communications. Because of this, the phonetic alphabet was earlier introduced featuring a list of readily recognizable words to better the quality of communications. Of course, human vocal expression would have had to pre-date language. Today, much of our language still incorporates sounds that are recognizable expressions of common thoughts & feelings, also termed onomatopoeia. The moral of this post: The more you understand sound, the better youll understand homan language. Enjoy the game. msn.foxsports/nfl/gameTrax?gameId=20140119007
