OMG! Just helped pursue a purse snatcher at my local grocery store! Walking out to my car when I hear someone yell Stop him, he just grabbed a purse! I turn and a man runs right by me with a grey purse hanging in his left hand! Adrenaline kicked in and I started running after him, yelling for him to stop and drop the purse. Of course, I couldnt catch him, but he didnt know that, so he made a quick turn between the cars, heading for the other side of the shopping center. Fortunately, by then, so many others heard the commotion and as he was being pursued by about 10 people, he dropped the purse. But instead of running away, he stopped running and very casually walked to the front of a PA Liquor store where he stood and acted like he hadnt done a thing! He probably knew no one would approach him....did he have a weapon?....but someone had already called 911 and the police were there instantly! A woman who had been sitting in her car on a phone call told me he had been hanging around, walking back and forth for about 10 minutes. The most interesting thing about this is that just BEFORE it happened, as I came out of the store with my wallet loosely held in my right hand, I had a sudden thought that I was an easy target for a purse snatcher and I secured it more safely!!!! Be careful out there - we actually live in a very low crime rate area - but crooks are everywhere!
