OMS 7th grade blows out Kellyville, 22-6 Trivion Skinner scores two different ways in Bullpups’ win By LARRY OWEN Times sports editor KELLYVILLE - The Okmulgee 7th grade football team came away with a 22-6 victory over the host Kellyville Ponies on Monday evening. The Bullpups jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to the 16-point decision. The OMS squad will return to action on Thursday when they play host to their county rivals, the Beggs Golden Demons at historic Harmon Field. In Monday’s road game at Kellyville, the Bullpups received to begin the game and needed only 15 seconds to put the first points on the scoreboard. Trivion Skinner took the opening kickoff from his 32 and raced toward the Okmulgee sideline. Once to the outside, the speedy Skinner turned on the jets and outran every Kellyville defender to the end zone for the 68-yard kickoff return. The try for two was unsuccessful, putting the Bullpups in front early, 6-0. With 4:12 left in the opening period, Okmulgee’s Keishawn Gardner pounced on a loose football at the Kellyville 44. The Bullpups would reach the end zone twice in the twice with both scores being taken off the scoreboard due to penalties. The OMS squad would finally punch the football in on the drive, as Jacob Barrett would find a wide open Gardner in the end zone for the 21-yard pass play. Barrett would race across the goal line for the conversion to give the Bullpups a 14-0 advantage with just two seconds remaining in the opening frame. Neither team was able to produce any more scores until 4:31 of the fourth when Skinner zig-zagged his way down the field for an 85-yard TD run. Barrett then hooked up with Gardner on the conversion to extend the OMS lead to 22-0.
