ON THE DEATH OF LATE MR FOLUSO OGUNDARE LET’S - TopicsExpress

ON THE DEATH OF LATE MR FOLUSO OGUNDARE LET’S CHEW UPON THIS I would be barren of feelings and complete disregard to the feelings of others particularly to the dirge sung for late Foluso Ogundare. The incidence that led to his death was attributed to the deficiency of cohesion and understanding by the political gladiators which finally brought furore and death in the wake of their actions. I deeply aligned with the out-pouring of outrage and condemnation of his killing by other fellow indigenous. What brought us here? The answer is simple: quest for leadership and relevance in all political dispensations coupled with pristine primordial tendencies. To accomplish this, the camp of the youths became vulnerable to poaching and some offer himself/herself as willing instruments to the debasement of mores, norms and values once held sacrosanct which includes sacredness of life. The political landscape of Emure is not only wider but fertile enough for the ants, rats, antelopes and political elephants to wander and to cultivate without let or hindrance. The life of any Emure indigenous lost to the political ambition of someone through squabbles is a heinous crime against the collective psyche of all. Let us stop acting naive in playing politics, let there be variegated political alignment and dynamism as vehicles for the conveyor of our ideas toward the development of the community. We cannot obviously have the same judgment or opinion on the same issue rather everyone should be allowed to run home with his assertion even if it is wrong. He should not be assailed or coarse to abandon his views but must be guided by stronger argument to jettison his held views. While other politicians are attracting developmental projects to their communities and assisting their siblings and acquaintances to various posts in public and private sectors, guns and cudgels are ferried to Emure. It is disheartening and condemnable. The blood of Emure indigenous should not be used to water the political career of anyone and the flesh should not be used to fertilize the popularity of any politician. Who knows what late Foluso could have brought to Emure were he alive? I empathized with the immediate and distant family of the deceased. I pray that such evil would not re-occur in Emure. Emure a gbe a o.
