Inibehe Effiong If we agree that the worst multi party state is far better than the best one party state then the decision of Obong Umana Okon Umana to defect to the APC to pursue his gubernatorial ambition should be applauded by all lovers of democracy. I feel insulted when people arrogantly talk as if PDP is the best thing that has happened to Akwa Ibom State when the hard and bitter truth is that the PDP leadership has brought untold suffering, killings, poverty, slavery, corruption and diabolism into Akwa Ibom State. Though he was until now a part of the oppressive system and the evil Akpabio regime, his decision to challenge the the despotic and anti-people plan of Akpabio to install a stooge on the people as his successor is commendable. Those who think they can stay in PDP and stop Akpabio from having his way are being naive; they are jokers. As far as the PDP is concerned, Udom Emmanuel will emerge the candidate. All the nonsense talk about zoning is just a bait for tribal warlords who are only after sentiments and not the real issues of governance and citizens welfare. If zoning is such a good thing, it should be universal. It should be applicable to all including Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District. How can Akpabio be talking about zoning and at the same time aspiring to the Senate when it does not favour his Federal Constituency? Hypocrite!
