ON THIS DAY - September 9, 197 SWAN HILL SWAN HILL MURDER - 1971 A Swan Hill boy who shot his sister was found not guilty of murder on the 28th February 1972 on the grounds of insanity. Stanley Howard Janetski appeared in Bendigo Supreme Court charged with having murdered Sandra Denise Janetski, 11, on September the 9th 1971. He pleaded not guilty. Mr Justice Anderson ordered that Janetski be kept in custody at Turana detention centre, Melbourne, at the Governors pleasure. The prosecutor, Mr D. W. McLeod, said the Crown alleged Janetski had been at home alone with his sister on the afternoon of September the 9th. He had taken a .22 rifle and had fired several shots into her face.
