OPEN FORUM PRESIDENT SATAS SUCCESSOR: MULENGA SATA? We continue discussing a potential successor to President Sata, today we discuss his son, Mulenga. Insiders within Patriotic Front have told Zambian Eye that the Presidents first born son, Mulenga is one of those with ambitions to run for the presidency. Mulenga is being position and using the name of the Father is now seen as one of the front runners for the presidency of PF and later Republican. This became clear when Vice president mentioned his name that he was not qualified to aspire for the presidency due to the parentage clause. Mulenga sharply responded to Dr. Scott saying both of his parents were Zambian and he was qualified to for the presidency. I remain committed to the development of my country and the social upliftment of our people, and What we want is leadership that fosters unity in the country across ethnic and/or religious divides, Mulenga stated in a well polished statement. Mulenga a civil engineer by profession was elected Bauleni Ward Councilor in Lusaka during the 2011 Tripartite elections. Just this year he assumed the position of PF Lusaka District Chairman and Lusaka Mayor after going an opposed. Last months, he was elected President for Local Government Association of Zambia. All the three positions in the space of 5 months. He seems to be on the fast ride to the top and is said to backed by some named senior cabinet Ministers royal to his father. Has Mulenga Sata got what it takes to ascend to the presidency? Can PF put him to succeed his father? What will be the implications of such a move if any and the advantages? Let us discuss....
