OPINION: Isapa Road, Ajibola and KWSG. By Gbenga Awoyale Date: 2014-12-19 I read with utmost sense of amazement and disappointment a statement credited to the Kwara State Government on the construction of Isapa road and the wasteful 12 years of Ajibola in the Senate. How could any responsible government engage in such outright lies and deceit as a tool of governance? What kind of frustration or desperation will make a government tell an open lie? What do they take Kwarans for? It is pertinent to set the record straight and expose this government to the world. Kwarans should ask the Senator Bukola Saraki and Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed the following questions:? 1. The Kwara state government should mention the name of the contractor that executed the Isapa road project to the world. 2. How much was the Isapa road project contract awarded? 3. Who paid for the road project? 4. When was the money paid? 5. How many roads were constructed around the state in the last four years by this government? Kwarans, please be informed that the road mentioned by Kwara state government was awarded by Kwara state government in their usual ways of playing politics and it was abandoned thereafter. It therefore became an embarrassment to the people of Isapa and the Senator. The senator took it upon himself and paid the contractor for the execution of the project. Kwarans, the much hyped Ipetu-Arandun road that was listed as an achievement of this government is just a 400 metre tarred road. The road is there for everyone to verify. It should be recalled that the people of Kaiama allegedly stoned the governor when he was about playing the same ostrich game with them. For how long will this game(lies) continue? If this is how government is being run and road are dubiously constructed, then we are in big mess. We are in big trouble. How on earth will a right thinking government ?continue to deceive the good people of Kwara North (abandoned zone) by re-flagging off a 70 km road barely few minutes to the end of their administration. Kwara North has remained perpetually underdeveloped owing to lack moral rectitude by the government in power. Kaiama-Kishi road project is not as desirable as Kaiama-Bode Saadu at least to link communities in the northern senatorial district and promoting commercial activities therein. I sincerely nod my head in shame for Gov. Ahmed as he cannot construct the Share-Alabe-Oke Ode road which is less than 50km linking the entire Ifelodun local government area together neither ?was he able renovate the Oko bridge. What a stooge administrator. Meanwhile, 2015 affords us the opportunity to send this lying government off the state of harmony. There is urgent need for Kwarans to come together and vote out this government. Our children will not forgive us if we fail to free ourselves at this point in time. Enough of this politics and campaign of calumny. This is another great opportunity the reposition our state. It is time for total freedom. Gbenga Awoyale is the President General of Orisun Igbomina, Kwara state.
