OPPOSED One thing that Ive noticed as a person who not only coaches fitness, but coaches life, is that as soon as people begin taking steps in the right direction, as soon as they begin to line up their life with Gods plan, SOMETHING HAPPENS: - an unexpected bill - a health crisis - a job cutback - a relational challenge - a major house repair All of these things may seem coincidental, but Ive done this far too long to be fooled by that thinking. My good friend Dr. Bob Laurent put it this way: YOU LIVE A LIFE OPPOSED. There is a presence of evil in this world that is REAL and he is powerful. His name is satan and he is opposed to our growth. He wants us captured in old patterns, wants us sleepwalking through life, wants us desiring lesser things than what God desires for our lives. And he is HELLBENT on keeping us from all that is good, true and right. Im not saying this to have you think Im a doomsday kind of guy. Im actually quite the opposite and the reason is that WE HAVE POWER over the evil one because of the power that Jesus gives to us. His strength allows us to resist the devil and he will flee from you, as it says in James 4:7 Simply BEING AWARE of this opposition and not being surprised by it will give us courage to continue on, when we face resistance. Keep taking the next right step. God will give you the power you need to be more than a conqueror as scripture promises.
