ORIENTATION # 400: WELCOME IN THE UNKNOWN If you look at a banana what do you see ? You see a banana right ? If you look at George W Bush what do you see ? You see George W Bush right ? If you look at your future what do you see ? You see the picture of what you would like to be and to get.. isnt it ? Whats weird in that ? Is there something missing ? It seems that everything flows with the river of normality right ? : Apparently it all makes perfect sense: you look at the banana or whatever you will and your brain decodes the mnemonic database of that banana according with the knowledge you have about it ... But, wait, at the very beginning of the architecture and process of thinking regarding the object of your observation, (in this case the banana), you do not immediately think what you want to do with that banana: you look at the banana and what you have at the very beginning of the process of thinking is an old banana... yes: old because what you see is the projection of the old data contained in you memories then applied to and object which is totally anew .. Do you understand ? You look at the banana through an old way of watching and observing... At the very beginning of the process of thinking, during the immediate observation of the banana, there are no psychological actions of any kind: just the act of labeling according with the old thinking.. which is not exactly thinking but rather it is merely an automatic act of picking up the decoding from the database of the mind (also known as the past). It is not a case that, according with modern science, it seems that only the 5% of our daily action are taken through the 100% of consciousness (in my personal opinion I do believe that, to the many of us, the percentage is to be reduced at the 0% !!!) Again: you look at the banana and what your mind projects on the screen of your consciousness is a mere holographic banana fabricated by the old memories and information related to that object... but the object of your observation in from of you is totally anew. Indeed if you have no old into your psyche then the banana becomes most likely an object of curiosity... : you what to understand what that curious object is ... Is that a fruit ? Is that a flower ? Is that a mysterious caterpillar ? Or a stone, or a bird ? Can I eat it ? Can I use it as a device ? Is that dangerous ? ..and so on... (in curiosity the mind gets absolutely active... fresh... )... Now, we must obviously say that the database we have that allows us an appropriate decoding of the banana is simply a treasure... but this is to say how, by watching and observing psychologically something, the banana in this case, automatically... then we spend almost the wholeness of the energies of our observation in the decoding of the psychological picture of the banana through the old database of the mind ... therefore, then, we activate, almost automatically, the consequential choices such as : I want to catch and eat it... or total indifference... The fact is that the banana is faced through the old and thats technically fine ... To think in this way doesnt make us robots of course... dont worry about it ... Im simply wondering about the fact in which this automatic thinking leads to a perpetual automatic thinking in which the mind gets dominated by the old while facing the new ... dominated by the psychological images that pop out from our mnemonic database each time we activate a process of thinking whatsoever... So now we spoke about a banana, which is an object, ..but what about if we apply the same inquiry in regard of our relationship with the others, or with the partner, or with ourselves, and what about if we have to look at our feelings, emotions, psychological things that we sense beyond the intellectual comprehension ? Can we wonder about these things profoundly ? Whats the way, whats the observation we activate at the very beginning of the process of thinking when, for example, we have to think about love ? ... or about our depression ?... or about our need to achieve some sort of joy... ? Or about our loneliness, sadness, boredom, suffering, guilt, regret, anger and fear ? Are we observing all of these things in a way in which our observation implies an absolutely new process of thinking ? Or are we watching and observing all of these things through the old which is the psychological picture of what love, depression, loneliness, sadness, boredom, suffering, guilt, regret, anger, fear and all other things are according with our database ? How can we meet and communicate with the constant new, which is both the unconscious mind and the unknown (the future happening in the present moment) if we attempt to meet the new through an old, sometime even archaic, framed in dogmas, process of thinking ? Think about these things ... But observe them, think about them through a totally anew way of thinking ... using the old as the mere software you need... but no more than an intellectual mnemonic software... This is not philosophy: it is an attempt to think totally: You see: you think at the banana and you get the picture of the banana directly into your mind even before the activation of the whole process of thinking... Now try to think at the possibility to think in a totally new way... What comes into your psyche ? What picture do you observe ? What you see ? Can you see that there are no psychological pictures in there ? The mind is new !
