OT vs NT: Isaiah said, by his stripes we ARE healed. Peter quotes - TopicsExpress

OT vs NT: Isaiah said, by his stripes we ARE healed. Peter quotes the same scripture but gives it a different twist, by his stripes we WERE healed. Isaiah uses present tense while Peter uses the past tense meaning it has already happened. Why? Isaiah spoke before Christ suffered on the cross, bearing in his body ALL our pains and sicknesses while Peter spoke after it was done. Question is what else was accomplished on the cross? Ill give one: Christ became sin - yes all my sin, which at that point in time hadnt even been committed. That I might become the righteousness of God through believing. So now what remains? What remains is not to ask God to heal you, nor to forgive you. Not to come to God and say, am very sorry. Simply believe and receive and abound in thanksgiving for what God has already done for you through Christ. Now that is GOOD NEWS! #ExtremeGrace
