WEDNESDAY 11TH DECEMBER 6:30PM OUR FOOTPRINT: STORIES OF OUR COUNTRY BY OUR ELDERS EPISODE 18, LAKES ENTRANCE This is the story of Aboriginal families who lived in the bush camps around the tourist and fishing town of Lakes Entrance after white settlement. THURSDAY 12TH DECEMBER 6:30PM AROUND THE CAMPFIRE: STORIES FROM OUR COMMUNITIES EPISODE 20, YARRABAH WITH SHARONA-LEE MURGHA Yarrabah is a coastal Aboriginal Community that has the beautiful Pacific Ocean on one side and tropical Rainforest on the other. Come with Sharona- lee Murgha as she shows us around this proud Community and shares the things and the places that are special to her. FRIDAY 13TH DECEMBER 11:30PM AROUND THE TRAPS: EPISODE 12 A National arts and entertainment initiative, providing a voice for remote and regional communities. Hosted by Alan Clarke and Mayrah Sonter we wrap up what is happening in communities around Australia in arts and culture. SATURDAY 14TH DECEMBER 7PM UNEARTHED: INSPIRATIONS FROM OUR YOUTH EPISODE 19, SANDRIDGE BAND This story follows the Sandridge Band of Borroloola as they travel from Borroloola to Cairns to record their ‘Ngabaya’ song for a music video. Made up of six men from the Borroloola region – the band plays a distinct rock and roll reggae music. SUNDAY 15TH DECEMBER 7PM NGURRA: STORIES IN OUR LANGUAGES EPISODE 14, WALK THE TALK Aretha Briggs is a Yorda Yorda Yenbena (Aboriginal) woman who has started a Yorda Yorda language program at her sons local school in the country town of Shepparton. Aretha returns to her mothers home land country and shares with the audience her experience of growing up and reveals the strength of the Aboriginal woman in her family of handing down centuries old knowledge, stories, language and history to their future generations.
