OUT OF MIND - Tove Lo By Ryan Carlin The Experience: Out of Mind is a cry of pain in the darkness that remains after we give ourselves away only to find ourselves abandoned by someone who really just saw us as a toy for his own amusement. Music video: The video begins with a sleepless Tove Lo in bed with a soundly sleeping man singing to us about how she knows he will be gone by morning. What is most disturbing about this is that he is able to sleep soundly despite this fact while she lies awake and suffering his betrayal... The Meaning: In Out of Mind Tove Lo tells the all too common story of a commitment free relationship that leaves her alone after she has given her partner the most precious gift she has to offer, her very self. Sadly he does not seem to care and tries to make her believe she will be able to move on just like him. Tove Lo is not fooled by this and the refrain shows us the agony that such a betrayal leaves behind since deep down she knows she has been treated like a toy for this mans entertainment and will never be able to simply move on as if it had never happened. Ask yourself: Am I using the people in my life that I claim to love or am I in it for the long term in order to give them the best of myself?
