OVERCOMMITMENT TO WORK OR SUCCESS Overcommitment is a term that cannot be defined in hours and minutes.One person can work ten hours and still maintain the correct priorities,whereas another may work ten hours on the job physically and another ten mentally even while at home.Overcommitment to business is usually a sign of fear,specifically the fear of failure.Most times a Christian will rationalize an overcommitment because its for my family.However,when put to a vote,most wives and children would decide otherwise. Perhaps the most graphic consequence of that particular symptom is the swing toward liberalism in our young people.An overcommitted parent can supply things to his children but not direction and certainly not balance.
