OWASSO – The city has surpassed the $2 million barrier in monthly sales tax collections for the first time. This month, the Oklahoma Tax Commission submitted a sales tax check to Owasso, Oklahoma for $2,073,564.27, OTC records show. The payment reflected taxes collected during the previous month and represented a 15.7 percent increase over the same month a year ago, according to a city memo. “These thresholds kind of come and go, but it’s always exciting when you reach a new one,” Acting City Manager Warren Lehr said.
