OWWA Region 1 Now Accepts CMWSP Application for SY 2015-2016 June 19, 2014 at 10:59am The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office 1 (OWWA RWO1) is also accepting applicants for the qualifying exam of The Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) for School Year 2015- 2016. CMWSP is another baccalaureate scholarship program mandated by Republic Act (RA) 10022 also known as The Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995 and is funded by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). Qualified applicants are entitled to Php 60,000 worth of scholarship per school year. The program shall benefit immediate descendants of OFWs who intend to pursue course primarily in the field of science and technology as identified by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The following are the Eligibility and Documentary Requirements of the CMWSP: Eligibility Requirements: Child of an OFW below 21 years of age Filipino citizen In good health and of good moral character Belongs to the upper 20 % of the High School graduating class With a family gross annual income (for OFW as single worker) of US $4,800 OR Php 208,000.00 Have not earned units in any post-secondary/undergraduate course Not a recipient of any scholarship award The Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT) Passers with an average of 85 % and above as certified by the NETRC may apply Availment of the program is only one per family Documentary Requirements: Two (2) sets of Accomplished CMWSP Application forms (to be secured from OWWA Regional Office, Satellite Offices, or downloadable through OWWA LaUnion’s Facebook Account) Two (2) copies of recent 1”x1” colored ID pictures NSO- authenticated Birth Certificate of the applicant as proof of the relationship to the OWWA Member. If the applicant is a brother or sister of the member, the NSO- authenticated Birth Certificate and Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) of the member must be submitted too. Health Certificate from authorized Government Physician Certificate of Good Moral character from the school Form 137 or Transcript of Records in Fourth Year High School Certificate from the School Principal that the applicant obtained a GWA of at least Eighty Percent (80%) and certificate that he/she belongs to the Top 20 Percent of the graduating class. OWWA Membership Verification Sheet. The awardees shall be selected on the basis of their performance in the National Scholarship Exam administered by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).
