Oakdale Farmers Market Update: Looking forward to a great day at the Oakdale Farmers Market. Weather will be clear. Louise Buxton Johnson will be at the Farmers Market tomorrow with hot tamales, banana nut bread, fig cakes , jellies, relish, figs( different flavors) and syrup( mayhaw and fig) . See you there!! Steve Saia will have Butternut squash, country eggs, raw local honey and fresh picked OKRA!!!!!. Also a complete lineup of world famous Camellia brand dried beans, all 17 varieties and all at better prices than the big stores. Muscadine grapes are back and available in gallon bags. Priced this week at $10 per gallon. Come get yours early as they go fast. Ricky Willis will be there with fresh cracklins, tomatoes, peas, pickled okra and other seasonal veggies. Marie Brown will be there with her famous sweet dough pies and chicken boudin balls. Her fig cakes are so delicious. Dont forget to pick up your fresh baked Tea Cakes from Howgee Jaccald. Friends, those tea cakes are absolutely delicious. Jason will be there with his fantastic collection of Kajun Kounty Krafts. You will love his selection of solar lamps for yard or garden. He will also have great gift ideas for those special loved ones ... ... remember, Christmas is just around the corner. Come check out Kajun Kountry Krafts at the Oakdale Farmers Market. Where in the world can you get popcorn balls made with pure cane syrup? Stop in at Mr. Wilsons for the best popcorn balls, pecan candy and pure cane syrup. Those pecan candies are so good. We hope to see the Odom farm represented at the market on Friday. They always have the best home grown veggies. There is a good chance we will have several new vendors coming for the first time. We look forward to more variety and greater selections as more vendors join our efforts to grow your market.
