Obamacare - Week of 11-17-13 On one national news program (on Fox), they gathered together several programmers from major US companies and questioned them about the existing Obamacare new application to apply for coverage. The consensus among them was that it had been written in an extremely confusing and unnatural way. None of them believed the present application could be repaired fully by 11-30-13. Cancelations An argument could be made that the cancelations appear to have been designed—almost purposely—to cause a sense of hurry and desperation in the people whose policies were being canceled so that they would realize that under the new law, if they have no insurance policy, then they are violating the law! Its almost as if the idea was put together to make good law abiding people panic so that they would hurry and take any policy they could get. It looks to me as if the plan may have been to create such confusion that leaders might simply throw the whole works into Medicare (a highly successful and well-liked program, the way they already seem to have done Medicaid, and perhaps by doing that, completely socialize medicine in the US! Certainly, this would have been a slick trick if it had succeeded. One unfair aspect of this plan would have been that some of us have been paying into Medicare and still are. In fact, Quite a large sum of money is going out of my check each month for Medicare. Perhaps they ought to try to take over the automobile industry next time... It was said by reporters and a few secret service officers present when insurance managers and democratic congressmen and senators were meeting to discuss what the plan would be that lots of deals were being made. No comment about what these deals involved. But this bit of news has left me with a rather bad feeling... Monday Veterans Day 11-11-13 The man who put the Obamacare plan all together appeared on Megan Kellys news program. After he finished working on the plan, he reported that he had warned President Obama that this plan would not work! Tuesday 11-12-13 Former President Bill Clinton made a national announcement on TV that President Obama must make his promises to the American people good. It did not sound to me as if he were ASKING Obama to do this. Wednesday 11-13-13 Senator Diane Feinstein and other democratic representatives announced publicly that they were giving the president 72 hours to get the medical debacle straightened out. They wanted him to do something to work it out other than just to let it go—which he had been doing. Thursday am 11-14-13 President Obama announced that he was delaying all the expiration notices one year. Friday 11-15-13 Congress passed a law delaying all the expiration notices one year. Im no expert on Constitutional law, but I have always understood that it is unconstitutional to pass any law regarding any even that has just taken place. Does anyone know? Afterthought So, do you think we need some kind of medical coverage for one and all? Only upper class privileged people need to jump ahead of everyone else? I was always only a working stiff. nothing special. But several years ago, I accepted a job at Berea College as a Spanish Lecturer. Soon after I started, my right ear became stopped up, and I could not hear properly out of it. It did not hurt. I had no fever. It was just a cold in the ear. Obviously, I simply had to get that ear working so I could properly hear the students. So I found a doctor in Richmond, an eye, ear, nose and throat specialist. I asked him to forget about insurance. I would pay him cash to get my ear working properly again, fast. I explained my dilemma to him So you are on the spot, He agreed helpfully. Then he proceeded to prescribe a medicine for me. This should work quickly, he promised me. If it does not, come back, and I will punch a tiny hole in the middle ear and drain it. The prescription began to work later that night, and by the next day, all was well. The reason I tell this true story is to show that anybody might sometimes wish to move ahead of the crowd. You dont have to be anybody special. It could happen to anyone, any time. But under a public system like Obamacare, there will be no special treatment for anyone. It will be a completely 100% fair triage medical system. If that is strictly what you want, then you are in luck. That is exactly what you will have.
