Obamas Olive Branch. The new negotiations with Cuba have stirred up inside my soul, memories, pain, and love. On several occasions, I have contacted on social media people that were from our home town in Cuba. I get so happy when this happens! Finally, I found someone that I can ask about my family. Immediately I mention my grandfathers name, who was very well known in the city. To my disdain they dont know him, they dont even know the businesses or where our house was located. Our house was located in front of the nunnery that had a private school. Everyone knew where this was. I could not conceive why they dont know my family. Thats when the words of my father came to mind...Mari there is no one left of our family in Cuba, they have all passed away. It has been 55 years of the revolution everyone I knew are dead and my distant cousins, I do not know. I dont know if they are communist or even what their position might be. Can you understand that my family as I knew it no longer exist? It hurst so bad that there are no words to describe my feelings. Does the OBAMA administration expect us to forget what we have suffered? I guess that all I have left is visiting the cemetery while others enjoy their wonderful vacation in Cuba
