Obamas announcement is a step in the right direction. As a country, we should put educating our citizens as a top priority, but we dont. Every community should have a strong vocational education program available for high schoolers. College and post high school vocational education programs should be accessible to all, in other words, our taxes should cover the foundation of education in this country, and then our country would be far stronger for it as a whole. We are riding on our past successes, but to remain competitive globally, we need to shift where our money is spent as a country.
