Observation. This morning, I was riding my 15 miles on the stationary bike at the YMCA, when a man interrupted me. He was on the bike next tome. He said, I have to tell you that watching you on the bike every morning inspired me to start riding, as well. You go a full hour! wow! I looked at him thankfully but incredulously. I told him that I was on the bike because I had been inspired by friends back in Lexington who wanted to save my life after my first wife died. I was just doing what I could to be healthy. He said, Then I thank you twice. I now have to pay it forward, just as you have for me. As he put his headphone back on, I sat there and had to recall the stuff that my grandfather taught me, You never know who is watching. Folks, we are all instructors and we are all exemplars. There is very little that we do that impacts only us, and to the extent that we can be positive in our approaches to living, we have no idea how many people will do the same ... simply because they watched you doing it.
