October, 1979, Eldora twin 50s. The beginning of the end of Bubby Jones USAC title hopes. The Seibert Olds team had entered a second car driven by Bobby East as insurance in case something happened to Bubbys car in the first 50. Bubby and Bobby made contact in the first turn of the first lap and both cars were destroyed. Bubby borrowed a car for the second 50, but he lost the points lead when Leffler finished well in the first 50. Other cars in the first photo are Greg Leffler in the 43, Billy Cassella in the 4, Pancho Carter in the 44, Sheldon Kinser(?) in the 2. Im not sure who was in the 19. Might have been Bruce Walkup. This is my photo sequence.
