Ode to Agnes: Im so sad to see you go. Weve been through so much together. Oh, the places weve been. Oh, the things weve seen. Just you and me. On the open road. I remember when we first met. Everyone, except for old women of course, would make fun of you all the time. But Agnes, I think youre amazing. Ive always thought that. Ive never had a more reliable and loyal friend. At your old age, I suppose you must feel prepared for death. I mean youve probably seen it all, who knows who owned you before us? But I will always remember all those good times weve had. Like that one time when we found 100 walnuts under your seats. Youre so funny, Aggy. I know you may be just a car, but I love you all the same. When the scary man in the suit uttered the word junkyard, my heart sunk. I knew it was time as youve been sick for awhile, but I had one last drive home with you. You rode so well, it was like you were giving it all you had left for that last ride. With your windows down, music blasting, I started to think about how much Ill miss your spunk. I think it was only fitting that the last song that you sang was, Hungry Like the Wolf. As an organ donor, your life will go on to save other sick cars. Please know just how many other lives you have and will touch, including mine. No other car will ever replace you, my first car, a 1997 Toyota Camry, but mostly my friend, Agnes.
