Ode to Lt. Lou Lachney past member of our local Corsicana Fire - TopicsExpress

Ode to Lt. Lou Lachney past member of our local Corsicana Fire Department and our USA Navy. I felt you all around the room today while we were celebrating your life here on earth. Your great humor and desire to put a smile on peoples faces would not allow us to feel sad for you today. Yes we cried many tears for your wife and 4 sons today, but even they stood very strong during our tears; which lifted all of us up at that moment. I was very deeply moved by the bag pipes & drummers who opened up your very special event today. I could feel their pain for a loss brother. I was further moved to share the pain of the USA Navy as they laid a brother to rest and presented our USA flag to Lous wife & kids today. I was then privileged to share the pain your brothers at the CFD have been feeling for days since your death. The ringing of your final bell from your family at the CFD left no dry eye in the house. Lou, you really did make a difference in our community. Although your life was cut short; your smile, leadership, pranks and desire to serve your community will never die and your family will remain safe with us. To Billy Roughton Jr. & Tina @ Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, you both did an amazing job in your efforts to cover every base for Lous good-bye party today; which was a major success. Your efforts are the very reason this community considers your family our true home town funeral home. I also now think our benefit efforts for the family should be in the form of a Lt. Lou Lachney scholarship fund for local men & women who want to serve and protect our community in the future, but who can not afford their own schooling. Of course all monies collected from the benefit will become the property of Lous wife Jamie and their 4 boys, Lou Jr., Seth, Ely and Lance in the future. They should have the sole honor of presenting those scholarships in the future to people who want to follow Lt. Lou Lachneys desire to serve his own city/county/state and country. Plans to raise those scholarship funds are already in the planning stages.
