Em: Lady, you know that doesnt make the green man appear any faster.. You just need to press it once… Odette: No Mum, this makes it go faster. Em: No, no it really doesnt. Odette: Yes it DOES. Em: STOP IT. STOP IT NOW. Odette: ………….. (aggressive eye roll)………. *Maintains unwavering and unblinking eye contact with me as she continues to pound the button to death. Green man appears, looks triumphantly at me. Odette: Seeeeeee?! Em: That would have happened anyway, with ONE tap! Odette: No it wouldnt. Em: YES. IT. WOULD. Odette: Mum. If you push something FAST it goes FASTER. *Slowly shakes her head at me and proceeds to cross the road.
