Of course, if you believe in nonviolence (and I believe in nonviolence), youve got to absolutely believe that protests should be nonviolent, but in the face of that kind of provocation you can understand it whilst not endorsing it. And that, what the problem is is that justice always comes at the end of the line and its only with the- ahh look at those people smashing up shops. Well why are people smashing up shops? Well, most immediately theres been an unarmed black teenager murdered. Oh, yeah, but thats an extreme example and its in isolation. No, its part of a much broader historical and cultural narrative where poor people and disempowered people are exploited and oppressed the world over. So now how do you feel about a few shops being smashed up? Inevitable. If the situation is injustice, then agitation is what is required.
