Off camber talk. I had a pretty brutal spill on my DRZ400S - TopicsExpress

Off camber talk. I had a pretty brutal spill on my DRZ400S today. So glad I was wearing elbow pads. I unfortunately was not wearing knee pads so my right knee is hurting. Noting broken, but the knee creaks slightly now. Hurts a little when I straighten it... Anyway, accident happened on a hill. I was riding parallel to the slope of the hill, not up or down the hill, but along the face of the slope. There was a little step of Dirt after which the terrain leveled out, and as I was coming up to it, my back tire slipped a little as I put power on. Then I tried to compensate by chopping the throttle to stop the spin, and slightly put a little throttle back on. At that point the bike stalled. Of course, the bike started to lean toward the bottom of the slope, at which time I couldnt recover my balance and I fell down the hill with the bike doing a solid THUD on the rocks. Thank goodness for radiator guards, cause this Hill was pure rock. So I landed on my knee, then my back, then my elbow. Whack. Must have fell a good 5ft. Smack. Glad the bike didnt roll on top of me. I obviously should have tried to lean the bike uphill when the bike stalled, but it was too late and happened so fast. Any tips guys?
