Officers in Aberdeenshire are appealing for information following the theft of a significant amount of used vehicle batteries from an industrial estate near Banff. The theft is believed to have happened between 12pm on Saturday 17 May and 6.40am on Tuesday 20 May 2014 and approximately three tonnes of used batteries have been stolen. Constable Paul Geddes said: The theft of these items would have taken a considerable time and may not have gone unnoticed. Additionally, we are asking that scrap metal dealers report any suspicious activity to us or if they are approached by people attempting to sell on batteries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
