Official statement about Volbeat performance at Metaldays. Last Wednesday’s Volbeat performance at the Metal Days Festival in Slovenia was cut short due to immediate illness of frontman Michael Poulsen. A bacterial infection of his vocal chord caused an immediate loss of his vocals only 6 songs into the set. Michael Poulsen is currently receiving proper specialist treatment and will continue the summer tour as planned. To everyone attending Metal Days, Michael has the following to share: Im terribly sorry that we had to cut our set short at Metal Days, but a vocal chord bacteria infection simply left me with no voice. We enjoyed the very warm welcome we had in Slovenia and we were gutted having to cut our set short! We will however return to Slovenia, so we hope to see you all again!
