Official visit to Egypt made by the Minister of National Defence Dimitris Avramopoulos. As part of the visit, Mr. Avramopoulos had talks with his Egyptian counterpart General Sedki Sobhy in Cairo and was received by the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Adly Mansour. He also met with the candidate for President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, former Minister of Defence and Chief of the Armed Forces, Archistratigo Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. In talks with Egyptian officials, the Egyptian side pledged its intention to proceed with the creation of an offshore Egypt in the world with respect for the rule of law. There were even reports on terrorism and illegal immigration that create instability in the region. Mr. Avramopoulos expressed to Mr. Mansour re assurances supportive stance on Greece to Egypt and to the will of the people and conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the President of the Greek Republic Karolos Papoulias and Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Mr. Avramopoulos also attended a dinner hosted in honor of the Greek Community of Cairo.
