Officially completed my first year at Dynamo FC. Couldnt be happier with the club, the 01s and the 98s (my u13s and u16s). Different set of goals for each team. The 16s definitely open eyes and established themselves as a team that can and will compete against anyone. We have some players that can and hopefully will play at the collegiate level too! Being a brand new team we overcame many obstacles to establish ourselves. The IYS wouldnt allow us to play state so we won USYSA Presidents Cup and earned a regional trip to Kansas City. We also brought home the 2014 Indiana Cup. Again, for being a new team they did well, even with our keeper not punting the ball! New era of competitive futbol for the 01s. Some challenges from day 1. But the boys were commitment, improved ourselves technically which allowed us to play possession oriented futbol! We had our ups and downs but 1) we lost very few games and 2) we tried to play the right way (even if it didnt look like it sometimes). A MVP chip followed by winning the 2014 Indiana Cup and earning a trip to US Club Regionals to play in the Super Group! An eye opener for the 01s but a learning lesson that they can only get by playing in that environment. The experience will certainly make us a better team for the next season. Two teams, four championship wins in one season. More importantly, we did it trying to play the right way! Thanks to George J. Rhodes who was a huge help in the adjustment during my transition to a new environment. Change isnt easy but he was a tremendous help in providing guidance and support through this experience. #DynamoFC
