Officially devastated that most of the fig trees in the neighborhood died do to the late frost here in NYC. Ours is being cut down now as I write. I know I am sentimental but fruit (outside of apples) growing in abundance on trees is sensual, biblical, mystical to this suburban born kid. My reference point was my first trip to the Mediterranean. An awakening on many levels. Well to end this personal rant... Luckily we have two fig tree starters going from the same tree. Now of we can keep them alive and with us no matter where we land.
