Oh, Captain, my Captain!! My heart is very heavy right now..... another one of the greats from my generation is gone... Everyone loved his movies and his TV shows... Everyone loved the way he made us laugh & feel.... Even most of his serious roles gave us pause to think what a great actor he was..... even if they scared the hell out of us. Wanna dislike one of his characters?! Watch August Rush. My first memory of him was not from Mork but from one of his stand-ups from HBO Live At The Roxy when he got John Ritter up on stage with him.... John was simply a guest in the audience who came to support his friend and was brought up on stage with very little coaxing and they simply did about ten minutes of improv.... I watched it and watched it until I had it memorized..... He did a crazy old man in the act, who wore a pair of glasses with no lenses..... at one point in the act, he poked his finger through the frames and said, After all, what is reality?! and ended the bit with Stay crazy.... there is not a government in the world which can handle crazy. MY favorite role Robin Williams ever played was HIMSELF.... ALL of his interviews were where he really truly showcased himself and where he showed exactly all of his talent.... it did NOT matter what any interviewer wanted to talk about as Robin was going to talk about what Robin wanted to talk about. Most of his stand-up routines were spot on and many of the things in his act were things I related to...... not that I had experienced all he had.... I could just relate. We all have our demons..... some let those take over..... some continue to fight..... some demons become too strong to overcome.... .I will not judge any actions of anyone..... they have their lives and we all have ours... NO ONE can know what is truly in our minds....ALL I do know is this - the world is a little less funny tonight...... Rest now, dear Robin....
