Oh, I have a happy cat + neighbourhood story to share! Our dear neighbour Js cat (named Kato) went AWOL in the late Fall. J has been setting out food and water for months, hoping Kato would come home. Were housewatching for J while he is on vacation and he asked us to keep an eye out for Kato, in case the beast came back. This evening when I arrived home, there was a woman earnestly knocking on Js door. I asked if I could help her. She said she had his cat. My eyebrow must have done its uncontrollable thing, and she said, Kato! I honest to gods bounced up and down and said NO WAY. Kato decided to have a little vacation a block up the road. The woman already has 2 cats, and she said Kato has been a very polite guest.She recently realized she should get him checked for a micro chip, and by some wee breach of protocol, the vet gave her Js address and phone number. Shed tried to call, but his phone is off while he is away, so she came to the house. On the one hand, WTH with the vet, but I am SO THRILLED that Kato & J will be reunited next week.
