Oh and this lovely inspiring message came up on my wall this morning from a young countertenor (I think it isnt publicly visible, hence the share)... feels good to have inspired someone to think outside the box a bit ( John Yohalem: you will appreciate this!): Since I read about Nicholas Tamagna singing Ulrica I am very excited about my voice dropping and my bottom becoming bigger. He has pioneered a new revolution for countertenors. . . one Im excited about being part of! I mean opera is already a make believe game as it is. So if a countertenor can deliver a top quality performance in a role that is otherwise performed by females I do not see a reason why he shouldnt be cast! Its not like I wanna sing Lucia. But I have always wanted to sing Morgana in alcina. #tornamiAVagheggiar
