Oh my how time seems to get away from you. I am sorry I have not updated for a while. Since we got back from Seattle, Doug started his treatment, girls registered for school, Ive been working at both businesses, went to the mountains to pick huckleberries, Bent took her Senior pictures, we had a golf scramble fundraiser, took Z back to Weber State, Bentli and Demi started school, and I have tried to remember to breathe! The treatment has been a bit of an adjustment. Along with just trying to heal from surgery, the meds make Doug tired. He has not been cleared to drive, which is making him crazy. He is slowly getting stronger each day. This second surgery has been quite different, seems to have taken a bit more out of him. But he is fighting hard to gain all his strength back so he can get back to doing the things he loves. Tonight is his 21st day on chemo, he now goes 7 days off. We are headed back to Seattle on Monday for an MRI on Tuesday and appointments with doctors. It has been crazy busy getting girls ready for school, Senior pictures were so much fun. All three girls went and we had a great girls day doing it. Bentli was absolutely a stunning model! Shawnie Dakan held a golf scramble fundraiser for Doug and us. Oh my gosh, it was a beautiful day and such an amazing turnout. Doug and myself strolled the golf course in a golf cart. We did our best to meet each team that was playing! 26 teams of 4! It was very humbling to see all the support for my husband. So nice to see everyone that came out. If you are reading this, I would like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for loving us, praying for us, and just plain supporting us. I could never show the gratitude I feel towards you all. On this same day, Z was called by her softball coach, letting her know she would be receiving a bigger scholarship than what we were expecting! We are feeling very blessed! Doug and I drove down with Z to Weber State to get her all moved in. What a great time we had with her. It was an exhausting weekend for Doug. But what a trooper, he hung with us all weekend. Z seems to have grown so much this summer, what an amazing young lady she has turned into. While we were there the softball team and families had a team BBQ. So nice to see the girls and their families. At the BBQ we learned that one of Zs under grad coachs mom has been ill. I am asking my prayer warriors to please say a quick prayer for Coach Buff and her mom, Denise. As we returned home Sunday evening, Doug and I ended up on the deck bawling our eyes out! I did think this year was going to be easier, boy was I mistaken. Man we spend all these years raising them to spread their wings and fly on their own. Then when they reach that moment to fly, I want to break one of their wings! Not really, it brings me joy she can fly on her own. I just want her to remember how to fly home every once in a while. What a crazy year I have a head of me. Bentli is a senior at Eagle High and Demi,my baby, is a freshman! Oh the emotions of having a senior have already started. I bawled all the way through previewing her senior pictures. As I thought about Z at college, I have bawled knowing Bentli will be gone next year as well. I better pull it together people. This journey called life, is such an amazing thing. I am grateful for all the life experiences I have endured so far. Yes we have some joyous moments, some times of tears, and we have been dealt adversity. Through it all I have become such a better person. I realized how strong I am, how vulnerable I am, how patient I am, and I have realized the example I want to be for my 3 amazing girls. We are believing in big things to come our way. Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Love and Blessings to all!
