Oh...the pinions of time! Today marks 36 years since Dr. Hainsley A. Russell baptized me at the Buff Bay S.D.A. Church. Addressing me in the pool, he said, When next I see you, I want you to say to me, Pastor, I am STILL standing on the Rock, Christ Jesus. With Bro. John Mc Leary at the organ, and Sis Viviene at the piano, the music was most memorable. Then, the wavy vocal characteristics of Sis. Lecky, singing, Jesus Is All The World To Me, took things over the top! That song became my musical signature, for years!! How can I forget Byron and Patrick Walker...? Those two blood-brothers (new believers), boldly brought The Advent Message to my home. The rest is history. Thereafter, the solid grounding of the late, Samuel Ford and Elder Welsh, who walked the four miles on several Sabbath mornings, to encourage the fledgling flock in Tranquility. Bible Workers, Sisters Brown, were solid in the Biblical Prophecies. Pastor Matthias Patrick was a solid encourager. Sis. L Sharpe was a true choir leader. I can still hear, Here among the shadows...in a lonely land.... Eternal gratitude to God, and to my beloved Mama, who gave me my infantile introduction to worship and prayer--enriching my later relish for things eternal. I salute Melbourne, Laurice and Meric, who were baptized the same night of July 9, 1978. God be praised! An attitude of gratitude is truly in order! :-)
