Oh what a ride, but oh what a finish. Henry Ford said, If you say you can or you cant, your right either way, thanks to an amazing support team and especially to Robin at the helm, the team said we can do this and we did fifteen hours later come what may along the way. There is so much to tell about just a massive challenge as this and I will share more over the coming weeks. Its a story about an amazing team effort, so much passion and spirit amongst the group, those on the fide as well as those cheering us on and looking after base camp, the welcoming party on the hill just north of Tokanui, those at Turangi and finally the great welcome across the finish line in Taupo. Its a long long way around that big puddle, at one pointafter Waihai hill the hills just keep coming and coming at yah. To all of you that rode and supported in so many ways, a heart felt thank you for daring to believe and being part of such a memorable day. You are truly an amazing bunch of Kiwis. To all of you watching on via Facebook and the regular updates that were being loaded by the support team, so cool to have you along on the ride, I knew you were cheering us onwards, thanks for your great support, words of encouragement, prayers andhrlping to spur us on knowing you were cheering us on from afar. To the team taking footage, phots and doing posts, so awesome what you have done so as friends and supporters across the country and around the globe could follow updates. I was told that hundreds of riders cheered us on as they passed, so many words of encouragement, some that passed jokingly commented to Robin, that guy in the back isnt cycling as I wasnt using my legs. I give praise to the Master Creator for the strength I have in my body and the amazing healing that has taken place so far, my body was pretty sore and there were many aches but thats to be expected with such a huge challenge. I must say that climbing of the bike at the end required a bit of help, my upper body was a little hammered and then into the van required some more support, but the satisfaction of having achieved it far ourweighed all of that and it took another day day to realise what we had achieved. The celebrations for all the riders in the domain was well and truly over by the time we crossed the finish line, that didnt phase us one bit, we made it and achieved our goal, that was a priceless moment thats for sure. Some of the hills we climbed took well over 2000 revolutions of the crank to climb, Hatepe Hill being the longest but not the steepst. We encountered wind and drizzling rain early on, then patches of sun and warmth, a real cold patch near Waihai Hill and then almost halfway between Turangi and Taupo the rain came down and the spray came up. Its been an incredible adventure, one of many to come, it is my plan to take up a creative writing course so as to write a book re the jorney and the challenge to Lake Taupo, so please stay onhoard and come along for the jorney. I am now preparing to head to Auckland early in the morning to be at the Attitude Awards tomorrow night at the Viaduct Events Centre, I am a finalist in the catorgery, Courage in sport award. Thanks so much for the amazing support that I have received with votes for the Peoples choice award, so good of you to have taken the time and effort to click the vote button each day. It is truly an honour to be part of the awards and I go there knowing that I have only made it to where I am firstlyThe Master has made me strong when I am so weak, He gives more and more grace for the journey andto my legend, my Babe who has stood beside me all the way and or to amazing kids, oh what strength and beauty you sidplay from deep within, to the closer support team these past few years, thank you for hanging in there, being so paitent, caring and kind and daring to believe and to so so many friends and supporters looking on and encouraging in so many ways, I take you all in my heart tomorrow and know thatI have been blessed in so many ways through the lives of many that I have never seen or heard but have come to love admore and respect. Attitudes sure make the difference, its the choices we make each day that count and each one builds upon another. Thanks from Batman and Robin and the dream team for sharing this part of the journey with us, stay onboard and see whats in store.
