Ohafia 2015: Calling for Meeting to Decide our 2015 Mben, kaani wo! 2015: I think i need to share this with you since I witnessed it last weekend. As 2015 nears, I think its time to get serious about who represents us. I just returned from Umuahia for an interview but before I knew it, I saw something else. I saw and heard about those jostling for political positions for Aro/Chukwu Fed constituency and Abia North Senatorial District. At the fora where I was involved as a media person, a review of our representatives was made. But let me begin by throwing the questions back at us all in the forum: Are we comfortable with our Rep, Arua Arunsi, Sen Chukwumerije at the federal level? I dont even know those representing us at the state level. I also understood there is a gentlemans equity charter in Aro/ Ohafia LGA to rotate power within the zones-Ohafia, Aro, and Abam. Aro man-Muo, gave power to Ohafia man-an Ebem guy who was removed for Arua an Nkporo man. The two men have run the Ohafia ticket of 8 years. It is Abams turn. And they are not sleeping. But I am told that Arua wants to come back, as Chukwumerije too. For me, I think we need some new guys to replace both people, at least one philosopher said politicians should be changed rapidly like diapers. To start with, while Aruas performance to me is zero, with open and well expressed anti Ohafia sentiments shown through none siting of infrastructure, as well as below average representation of our people in Abuja. Chukwumerije for me is okay but he has outlived his usefulness to our people. For 12 years or so hes been there, I cant see what he has done for us. For example, Isiugwu road is still there worst in that LGA as Ohafia-Aro Federal road. In fact, I suggest Ohafia produce the next senator. I say this because i understand that Muo wants to go to the senate in 2015. He was our rep from Aro LGA without anything to show. Isuochi/Isiukwuato has got its turn through Ike Nwachukwu and Chukwumerije. So, it remains Bende and Ohafia. This forum, I think, can mobilise and force a decision through statistical data of representation and performance and determine who becomes our Rep/senator come 2015. The race is still open. No one has been endorsed, I was told. So, we hold the aces if we do recognize our power and knowledge of that power represented by our numerical strength as the largest in Abia. Remember, only the OHAFIA VOTE decides who wins in Aro/Ohafia LGA, Abia North and Abia state. Wake up, guys. A meeting is needed.
