Ok Guys, I need some serious input on a buyer/seller situation Ive got going on. Im the Buyer. This guy was selling an item I wanted on Ebay at a kickassed price (Not that it matters, but the item is SOC: Godmars - Please dont post comments about the item). I noticed that it was a US seller so I sent him a message just saying who I was and asking if he did any business outside of ebay like RJ, TFW, SSF, etc. etc. and if so I could just pay him direct and save myself some cash and him some ebay fees. He knew who I was and not only agreed, but gave me his number, chatted it up, and came to the agreement that Id pay shipping, hed ship out Saturday, 1/3/15 Priority and Id pay the rest Thursday 1/8/15 when I get paid. Figured itd be here by then, I could make sure its complete, and boom pay him the rest. Pay him the shipping. Saturday comes. Calls me says that his girlfriend thinks shes pregnant, so hes busy with her. Whatever. Hell ship out Monday. Monday comes, his girlfriend calls me. Says he has the flu. Hell ship out Tuesday. In the meantime, I found a retailer with it for significantly more, but maybe worth it not dealing with a person like this, so I text him today (Tuesday) saying that if hes sick and cant get it out, then just refund it and Ill get it from said-retailer. Even if he said no to the refund, whatever it was just $20, but he said no hell get it out today. Says his mom shipped it out since he was sick and sent me a copy of the receipt: shipped standard post with an expected delivery of Monday 1/12/15. So, obviously it wont get her before I get paid, and some sketchy stuff has went on with his situations, getting it out, and then shipping a different, slower method. Makes me paranoid. So, I know if I pay him I can just dispute it if it doesnt come complete, but who wants to go through all of that? Im leaning towards waiting until Monday to pay him after I receive it. Just sucks because even though he didnt do his end in shipping it, I still feel bad about switching up mine. I dont have any reason to not trust the guy, but the random mishaps and shipping stuff just throw me off, so Im leaning towards waiting until Monday, but at the same time, wed already agreed to Thursday, so I hate going back on my word, especially if it all arrives in one piece. But, Ive got to protect myself as a buyer too. What do you guys think?
