Ok. I did it. My Dad would be really happy so this is my bday present to him. Im making an offer on a house and I chose very sensibly. I picked a small, well-built, older home on one-third acre in one of the nicest, older neighborhoods in Reno. Its the least expensive house in the area and is surrounded by homes worth closer to a million. It was built in 1949, and maintained and inhabited until 2013 by the same man and he was meticulous....he cut no corners and compromised nothing in the way of quality... it may be old, but its NICE old-mint condition old. :) Most importantly, it is zoned for some of the best schools in the state and has a big backyard (for a puppy), lots of garden beds, mature trees with branches that are perfect for hammocks and swings, a REAL fireplace that burns wood and requires flame to ignite, and a big front yard with a circle driveway to ride bikes and scooters, facing a safe, quiet street... I guess I will learn to live without my walk in closet and garden tub :( As long as I get to put a hot tub in my backyard! :) :) If its meant to be I will be in the market for Halloween decorations this year because I am going to be the MOST AWESOME hostess for trick-or-treaters EVER.
