Ok Im normally very optimistic but I need to speak about this. I realize this is only a portion of the story...but the bigger problem I have is that many believe it is acceptable to lock up criminals and throw away the keys. Mistreatment exists and it is unacceptable. The person working is not better because their choices arent the same as the person who is in custody. I cant possibly fathom any rational that would of deemed this an appropriate action on this officers behalf. Our incarceration rate is not making our streets safer...but without appropriate healing and understanding of the why people choose to break the laws and resort to criminal acts we are not going to see a change that matters. Just because someone is in jail or prison does not mean they are not human. What they have done is their lessons and path...how you choose to treat them...or speak about them shows who you are and what your character is.
