Ok Keri DeAngelo. You were the 10 books Ive read and reread that touched me, right? Here goes: 1. LOTR trilogy. Along with the movies (which paralleled a difficult time in my life) they have been a major influence. Not all those who wander are lost. 2. Mists of Avalon. Marion Zimmer Bradley. The feminist take on King Arthur. Whats not to love? I have read it at each phase of my life (pre-kids, young kids, done with babies) and I take away something different each time. 3. Stephen Kings The Stand. Read in a germ filled room at college freshman year, theres nothing like convincing yourself the superflu has hit! 4. Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. He takes what Grand Pappy Tolkien and George R R Martin started with world building and damn near perfects it. This is THE book is take to that deserted isle of infamy. 5. Songs of Fire and Ice though they make get bumped if he doesnt start moving along more smartly with the story lines. 6. Illusions -the adventures of a reluctant messiah and Bridge Across Forever. Who knew they made such books? Not 17 year old me who let them shape her life long love affair with Howard Globus! 7. Scott Cunninghams Witchcraft for the Solitary Practitioner. Not a novel so I hope it still counts but it sparked the dreams of a teenage religious rebel and started a calling. 8. Dont hate me but The Hunger Games trilogy. I like em, ok? 9. Green Angel. Forgot the author but its a thin, little novel about emotional healing and the pieces needed to find it. So good. 10. The entire Harry Potter series and the memories of reading it out loud over the course of a year to my kids. Phew! I think I went over by a few what with trilogies, 7 part series and on-going volumes but there they are. 10 influential books. You want to know who I am and why - just look through these times and its all there! This one Ill nominate for: Christine , Crys, Jo Jo VanEvery, and Jennifer Hofmann. Oh! And also Lara Lara Eastburn, Theresa Ramirez, Melissa Badamain and El El Edwards!! Whats your list of influential, formative, read and reread to death books. Enquiring minds wanna know! Tag me when you get around to it!
