Ok! So I broke down 200 yards away from the hospital, the regulator/ rectifier had shorted out inside and burst into flames. I got the bike off the road and into the car park of a disused wesleyan chapel. I put out the fire and walked to the hospital and had a good visit with Gavin again, hes improving every time I see him. After the visit was over, I just went and sat on my broken bike, wondering how I would get out of this one! Its Sunday afternoon, Im 125 miles from home and Ive got no money. Just then, I saw a bike pull up at the lights in front of me. The man riding the bike looked my way and nodded, I smiled and waved back. 5 minutes later he came and parked beside me and asked if I was ok. I told him about the problem and he offered to make me a cup of tea, then he rode off. 10 minutes later, he came back, he said he had a virago 535 trike in his yard that he hasnt used for months, and suggested that we try his rectifier on my bike! :-) we walked to his house where he took the part from off of his trike, and we walked back to the bike. Taking off my rectifier, we found that it needed an earth cable which his didnt have, so I took them both to a man who wed seen mending an old van, the man whose name is Mark, soon had a new earth wire attached to the new part! Thank you God for sending me an angel calledGypsy, a Godsend and now a friend! I love it when prayers are answered! How else would the only person who stopped to ask if I needed help, happen to have the exact part that I needed for my 21 year old bike? Share the love. Jesus did. 8|
