Ok, This facebook messenger thing is pissing me off, a bunch of misinformed people and media making a big deal outta this shit. FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, WHATSAPP, YOUTUBE, TINDER, ETC. Pretty much every single app or game on your phone has the exact same permissions as the Facebook Messenger app. It needs these permissions so you dont have to confirm with the system everytime you (for instance) take a picture or video on instagram. The app needs permission with the device to access the hardware (your camera and microphone) in order to take a video. Its not some creepy dude at facebook fapping to you in the shower or listening to your phone calls. Every single website and app take statistics to either serve you better do direct marketing or sell to 3rd party advertisers, thats why the shit is free. If you want privacy, your not going find it if you have a phone on you or a computer anywhere near you.
