Ok. Went to Tire Plus today for a cooling system check. Mechanic there said $825 to replace radiator, thermostat, upper and lower RAD hoses, and coolant system flush! So I broke it down parts and labor and compare it to having a private mechanic fix it. It goes like this... Tireplus Charges: Labor: $314 Parts... Radiator: $241.99 Thermostat: $16.99 Upper RAD Hose: $67.99 Lower RAD hose: $61.99 Coolant System Materials: $24.49 Shop Supplies: $18.84 Total: $821.42 (tax included) Private Mechanic Est: Labor: $300 Parts... Radiator: $131.99 Thermostat: $10.99 Upper RAD Hose: $23.99 Lower RAD hose: $14.99 Coolant System Materials: $19.99 Total: $533 (tax included) I cant believe it!!!!!!!!!!! Compare the two totals and then youll understand why most people choose to go private. I would save nearly $300 just by having a private mechanic fix my cooling problem!!!!!!!!!!!
