Ok..be NICE…or run the risk of being beaten about the head and shoulders with a Disney-approved turkey leg. My question: what is the true benefit of being a DVC member? I have read all the material and just cannot see the benefit. HOWEVER, I am not terribly smart and maybe just dont get it. Is it just the cachet of saying you are a member? We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite at Bay Lake for 10 days a couple of years ago when , during the EXACT week, a dear friend, whose HOME DVC resort was BLT, could not get a reservation and stayed elsewhere. Does it depend on your visiting pattern? We are a family of 3 who go from 1-4x a year and usually stay at the deluxe resorts (until last year, when we discovered Windsor Hills and got a 3 BR/2 bath 2000 sq ft condo in a gated community for $690 for 7 nights). We like flexibility and sometimes go on short notice. Is it more for the once a year, planned vacay folks? I know many people love it and I am afraid my not being very smart keeps me from understanding why. Please explain why you DVC members like it (or dont). I would super really appreciate it. Disclaimer: I love WDW VERY much, but am not blind to its shortcomings. I just really want to know what I am missing…heck, convince me and you will be my referral!!!!
