Ok friends- One of my cats has been peeing at the bottom of my stairs (the entry of my apartment). Someone suggested the culprit may have a UTI, but neither has exhibited any of the signs (frequent use of the litter box, blood and/or crystals in the pee, small and concentrated amounts of pee, etc.), so Ive pretty much ruled that out. Ive cleaned the area around their litter box, tried a new box (thinking perhaps Olivias pre-vs-post-spay urine smell was the problem) The last suggestion Ive heard was that perhaps there is a new cat close by (the distance between my door and the downstairs neighbors door is only a few feet, so its possible if she got a new one...) Neither of the cats have exhibited any signs of trouble or unusual behaviour, both are eating normally, and Ive done what I can to check their physical health (no fur loss, strange breath, eyes, swollen stomach, etc). If it comes to it Ill take them to the vet to be checked, but Im fairly confident its a behavioral issue. The only thing I havent tried yet is moving the litter box, and that will be next. So if any of you have any other suggestions (preferably based on experience or veterinary training) I am happy to hear it. So thank you in advance!!
