Ok, here goes. Public, this is what a teachers classroom looks like at the end of the summer. I know it doesnt seem like much, but we also need to plan, organize, run off, cut out, and laminate activities/posters for the start of the year. Also, setting up supplies, computer stations...the list goes on. Its virtually impossible to get all this done during the few days the state gives us at the beginning of the year (which are also taken up by inservice trainings, grade level meetings, etc). Every teacher I know starts coming in at least a week before school to get this stuff done, all without pay. So when your child walks into their beautifully decorated and prepared classroom on the first day of school, please think about all of the hard work that was put into that classroom.
