Ok our national guard has contacted the Coast guard to find out how to help people in water situations. The landlocked Colorado now has 3 islands. Estes Park, Lyons and Aurora . The rain is still coming down and Hwy 34 is in really bad shape , Bolder Has been flooding , The Big Thompson River has flooded and apparently the dam has broke somewhat. The Cache la Pouder river I see on my way to work is usually a trickle In the river bed. when I went to work last night it was about 4 feet from the top of the bank (about 12 feet up from usual) I wanted a little rain to cool things off from the 96 degree heat of last week ,,,,, I guess I wished too hard.
